Diving At Likupang Beach

Green Turtle at Likupang BeachIn 1997, was found a green sea turtle in Likupang beach. The finding of the green sea turtle or Chelonia mydas has become such big news for local people and WWF because this kind of sea turtle is a rare one. So, indirectly, this quite popular tour object in Sulawesi has been able to care its natural preservation.

Likupang coastLikupang beach charm offers rug of white sand, green hill, and under water sea park. The beauty of the sea park can be enjoyed by diving or snorkeling. Besides, you can also go to Bangka by motor boat to see the sea park in the island mentioned. Trip from Sulawesi to Bangka Island is around 20 minutes.


It’s located in the north tip of north Sulawesi, or the most north tip of Sulawesi Island. It’s about 48 km from Manado city which also included in Bitung city.


From Manado city, you can use public transportation such as public transportation from Paal 2 terminal. This public transportation will take you to Likupang terminal. If you go in group, it’s better to use personal car of rented car, because this beach is quite far from Manado city.

Some facilities available in this beach are diving equipment rental, food stall, and parking lot. If you want to stay the night at Likupang beach, there are some recommended hotels near Likupang beach, such as Aryaduta Makassar Hotel and Murex Dive Bangka Resort.
